Senior Accountant

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

Independently handle daily accounting tasks, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Carry out timely, accurate, and efficient month-end close responsibilities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and share best practices.

Prep daily cash reconciliations.

Aid in managing the external Sales Tax return preparer, including reviewing and approving returns.

Contribute to the yearly review of internally prepared financial statements with our independent CPA firm.

Keep track of customer prepayments, communicate to collect delinquent payments, and negotiate terms.

Process inventory adjustments in our ERP system.

Ensure compliance with annual audits of general liability and worker’s compensation.

Oversee 1099 year-end processing.

Cross-train in all facets of the accounting team.

Skills/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA highly preferred.

Comfortable and familiar with general ledger, financial reporting, and other accounting systems.

Understanding of Sales Tax rules and the ability to interpret individual state guidelines.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Openness to learning a new ERP system.

5 to 7 years of proven accounting experience in the manufacturing industry.

Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, operational accounting practices, and financial reporting.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Keen interest in streamlining accounting processes.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain policy and accounting details to non-accountants in other teams.
