ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Student Success division at the University of South Florida, is comprised of 60 departments, providing students with academic support, engagement opportunities, health & wellness services and enhancement of the educational experience.
The Academic Services team, which has a dual report to Undergraduate Studies and Athletics, provides services, programming, functions and outreach for USF student-athletes that results in satisfactory academic progress and graduation of student-athletes. Academic Services maintains a staff of 10 full-time employees, a team of 4-6 post-baccalaureate interns and full complement of tutorial staff to serve a community of approximately 500 student-athletes representing 19 NCAA Division I sport programs.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Academic Coordinator (working title) in Undergraduate Studies/Academic Services in Athletics will provide academic support services for the football program as well as an Olympic sport program. This position is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of academic support programming and academic progress monitoring for the assigned student-athlete caseload. This includes preparing and analyzing reports, leading and participating in meeting with coach staff and administration, participation in university committees and meetings, and conducting one-on-ones with staff and student-athletes. The position will report to the Assistant Director of Football and must adhere to all NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling or academic field directly related to the Advisor's specific responsibilities with a minimum of one year of experience in advising or related academic functions within higher education. 4 years of directly related work experience may substitute for bachelor's degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree with a minimum of one year of progressively responsible experience in advising, athletics, or related academic functions within higher education. Experience working with student-athletes coaches, support staff and administration in an intercollegiate athletics department at the Division I level and experience utilizing Teamworks and Retain preferred. Preferred degree in Education, Counseling or academic field directly related to the Advisor's specific responsibilities.
