Mission Statement: The Altrusa Hospitality House is a "home away from home" for patients and their families who travel to Green Bay for medical care, reducing the financial burden of lodging and making specialized health care accessible to all.

 

Summary: The Mission Advancement Manager impacts all aspects of advancing our mission both internally and externally, playing a pivotal role in the growth of the organization. Internally, ensures the smooth operation of a 12-bedroom Hospital Hospitality House, manages day-to-day activities, and fosters an environment that supports patients and their families. Externally, is responsible for volunteer and donor recruitment and engagement, and effectively communicating the organization's message to various stakeholders. On-call duties are included in this position.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Guest Experience:

· Ensures the smooth operation of a 12-bedroom Hospital Hospitality House.

· Assists in the development of best practices and procedures for the Hospitality team to ensure a high-quality experience for patients and their families.

· Manages guest reservations and assists with front desk operations.

· Leads Guest Service team, providing support to patients and guests, exceeding expectations.

· Liaise with hospital partners in the referral and placement process and education of AHH.

· Offer emotional support and a listening ear to patients and guests when needed.

 

Volunteer Management:

· Develops and manages volunteer programs.

· Communicates regularly with existing and potential volunteers.

· Organizes volunteer appreciation events and maintains the Volunteer Center website.

· Recruits new volunteers and collaborates with other organizations to expand the volunteer program.

· Trains volunteers and manages onboarding paperwork.

 

Donor Engagement:

· Assists with the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the organization's financial goals.

· Assists in identifying potential funding sources, including individual donors, foundations, corporations, and grants.

· Assists in building and maintaining relationships with existing donors and cultivating new donor prospects.

· May prepare and submit grant proposals, applications, and reports to secure funding from grant-making organizations.

· Assist with fundraising events, campaigns, and appeals to engage donors and raise funds.

 

Communication and Public Relations:

Collaborate with the leadership team to:

· Enhance the organization's visibility and reach.

· Create and distribute newsletters, press releases, and other marketing materials.

· Manage the organization's website and social media accounts, ensuring content is engaging and up-to-date.

· Act as a spokesperson for the organization when necessary.

 

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, marketing)

· Passion for the mission of the Altrusa Hospitality House

· Commitment to effective stewardship and best practices

· Previous experience in hospitality, nonprofit administration, fund development, grant writing or donor relations

· Previous experience in hospitality

· Proven ability to work with and manage volunteers.

· Ability to work with a variety of partner organizations and their representatives.

· Ability to communicate effectively, firmly, tactfully, and compassionately.

· Ability to work with people of all backgrounds, creeds, and lifestyles who are under great stress.

· Problem-solving and crisis intervention skills.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Flexibility and a positive attitude.

· Self-motivation and good judgment.

· Computer skills required.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

CPR/AED Certification within 6 months of employment
