Job Description:

The Head of Retail is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Le Lion store on Madison Avenue in NYC. This includes, and is not limited to, making sure the store runs smoothly and effectively, supervising any team members, maximizing sales and focussing on an exceptional customer experience. We are looking for a proactive and detail oriented individual who would be excited to grow with our small team!

Responsibilities

Sales, Customer Experience, and Clienteling

  • Achieve successful store sales performance through maintaining customer service standards, being forward with business initiatives, and developing relationships
  • Serve as Le Lion ambassador, setting the tone for excellent and consistent customer experience and positive employee culture
  • Provide a personalized experience for customers by building long term client relationships, communicating the Le Lion aesthetic, and having comprehensive product knowledge allowing each client to share their individual story through personalization
  • Manage all store transactions - purchases, returns, exchanges - from start to finish
  • Resolve customer issues in a polite and effective manner and listen to client needs while assisting them with finding the perfect pieces
  • Propose innovative ideas to increase sales and expand customer database
  • Ensure team is effectively communicating the Le Lion brand to customers and encouraging customers to engage with Le Lion
  • Stay informed as new collections and designs are introduced
  • Maintain customer data and manage client outreach for new and returning store customers
  • Communicate client feedback in a productive manner
  • Deliver reports when required

Operations and Inventory management

  • Open and close store and follow all processes and procedures
  • Maintain outstanding store condition, cleanliness and visual merchandising standards (inclusive of store and stock room)
  • Manage operational standards, specifically attention to detail and inventory accuracy inclusive of: receiving inventory, stock rotations, embroidery shipments, customization process
  • Complete understanding of the customization process and offerings to assist customers with embroidery and monogram possibilities and timeline
  • Evaluate and develop store associates through performance management and provide clear feedback
  • Anticipate hiring needs and manage scheduling, time off etc. for the store

Requirements and skills

  • Experience in management in luxury retail industry
  • Understanding of all facets of retail, including business development, visual merchandising, and store operations
  • Must be based in or near the NY area and available to work onsite, in person
  • Full knowledge and experience in Shopify POS and inventory management systems, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Willingness and availability to work during peak business periods - weekends, holidays, etc.
