The Opportunity

 

The position of Senior Quality Assurance Associate is within our Toxicology Business Unit primarily located in Portsmouth, Virginia. Under the supervision of the Senior Quality Engineer, is responsible for execution and delivery of daily operations of the Quality Assurance department. This role may also as required support warehouse and distribution functions at the Norfolk, Virginia location.

 

Shift:

Monday to Friday

Flexible start between 7:00 am-9:00 am ( 8 hrs/day)

 

What You’ll Work On

  • Carry out assignments in a timely, accurate manner and accomplishing tasks as required with little or no supervision.
  • Supports all core Quality Management System (QMS) processes as assigned, including but not limited to document and change control, QI/CAPA, validation, training, etc.
  • May coordinate contract review process required for distributors and applicable customers.
  • May support vendor contract process at the direction of supplier quality assurance.
  • May contribute or be assigned ownership of investigation, action planning and/or implementation of resolutions associated with QI/CAPA.
  • May support planned internal audits and/or assessments of business processes.
  • Works on assignments that may be complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school education
  • One year of warehousing experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline
  • Preferred 6 years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance in a medical device manufacturing environment, preferably in-vitro diagnostic, product distribution and/or warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of Quality System Regulations
  • Experience with MS Office and warehouse management systems
  • Able to work on multiple tasks as a team member and/or ability to operate as an individual contributor
  • Ability to learn and master new and/or difficult skills quickly and with competence
  • Detail-orientated, self-motivated
  • Team player who can flex and pivot based on business needs and priorities
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and motivational skills

The base pay for this position is $17.60 – $35.20 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
