Job Description:

Our client is a well-funded biotech in a brand new laboratory, working on state-of-the art methods in tissue engineering/regenerative medicine to address patients with chronic disease. They need your skills in iPSC cell culture to help push the program(s) forward and offer cures where there previously was no hope!

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • iPSC cell culture according to good aseptic technique, and all related activities:
  • Optimization of cell culture and related processes
  • Expansion of iPSCs
  • Differentiation of iPSCs
  • Inventory management: record and manage use of materials and reagents consumed and needed for future experiments
  • SOPs and documentation: write and/or update standard operating procedures and batch records for differentiation processes. Record all laboratory data in the in-house data management system(s) and electronic notebook (ELN)
  • Laboratory operation: follow proper procedures regarding laboratory safety, use of personal protective equipment, and handling of biohazard materials, including human or animal cells and tissues. Maintain smooth operations of the lab, including inventory/maintenance of lab supplies, monitoring of equipment, providing general lab support, and helping identify areas for improvement. Write and update standard operating procedures for operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Tech transfer: conduct the technical transfer of assays to other teams (manufacturing, for example)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in cellular biology, developmental biology, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a cell biology/culture laboratory
  • Proficiency in aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture
  • Expertise in iPSC maintenance and differentiation methods
  • Experience in flow cytometry, qPCR, fluorescence microscopy, and ELISA
  • Ability to independently follow experimental methods and protocols
  • Strong attention to detail and meticulous laboratory techniques and practices
