Our client is seeking applicants for a Regional Automation Project Engineer based in Toledo, OH. This role will take the lead for developing, implementing, and supporting new automation projects in seven North American automotive supplier manufacturing plants. This position will require approximately 25% travel. The majority of work will be in plants that are located in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Projects in the two Canadian plants will be less frequent. This opportunity has potential for upward mobility and career growth.

Essential Functions:

• Provide standardization across multiple manufacturing locations
• Act as an advisor for improvements
• Perform hands-on programming for automation systems
• Work as a project lead with multidisciplinary teams including plant-based Controls Engineers
• Troubleshooting automation systems
• Part Traceability and digitization of data
• Act as the Technical liaison

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science Engineering - minimum 5 years of experience OR will also consider 7-10 years of work experience in lieu of degree
• Candidate should be at ease with core aspects of PLC, HMI and SCADA system planning, design, programming, and upgrade
• Proficiency in PLC programming (RSLogix preferred), HMI (Allen Bradley preferred)
• Proficiency in Robotics programming (ABB and Fanuc preferred, but not required)
• Vision system knowledge and proficiency (Keyence and Cognex)
• Any additional skillset in software programming is a major plus (C/C++, Java, Python, etc)
• Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time
• Available to supervise installations, as needed
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be comfortable presenting technical information to stakeholders

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary range - $110,000 - $130,000 plus up to 10% bonus potential
