Founded in 1992, Phoenix-based Royal Paper is a privately owned, vertically integrated private label tissue producer offering a complete selection of high-quality tissue products including bath and facial tissue, napkins, and paper towels to retail and commercial markets. Our company has been stable for more than 32 years and continues to grow.

We are looking for an astute procurement leader to oversee procurement activities and ensure that purchased items are:

· High quality.

· Delivered on time meeting our operational needs

· Customer service (Lead Time)

· Cost in use effective

This role reports to the Inventory and Planning Director of Royal Paper. The scope of role includes production sites in Arizona and South Carolina.

The scope of procurement includes raw materials, chemical purchases, imported products, services, machinery, and parts purchases. Spend in scope areas is approximately $50 million.

To be successful as a procurement leader you should have an analytical mind and keep up with product and service trends. The procurement leader should be able to negotiate well and ensure that all purchases comply with company standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and monitor conformance to the annual strategic sourcing plan for Royal Paper.
  • Prepare plans and lead the RFP process for the purchase of equipment, materials, services, and supplies.
  • Visit prospective new suppliers and assess capabilities.
  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  • Maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
  • Ensure business processes are efficient and based on value adding principles.

Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree required.
  • Degree in supply chain or business management or a similar field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a procurement leader or in a similar position.
  • Paper industry / manufacturing industry experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP system.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong Attention to detail.
