Who We Are

The Texas A&M University Cyclotron Institute, a Department of Energy University Facility, is jointly supported by DOE and the State of Texas and is a major technical and educational resource for the state and the nation. At the Institute, we focus on conducting basic research, educating students in accelerator-based science and technology, and providing technical capabilities for a wide variety of applications in space science, materials science, analytical procedures and nuclear medicine. Approximately 100 Institute members – scientists, engineers, technicians, support staff, graduate students and undergraduate students – are involved in these programs. What We Want

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be performing state-of-the-art experiments, analyzing results, publishing research papers, and making presentations. The selected candidate will also be expected to help the PI with graduate student work and training. What You Need To Know

Salary: $4,500 monthly

Required Education and Experience:
 

  • Appropriate PhD.

     

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 

  • Ability to cultivate and maintain professional working relationships with individuals and communities with different perspectives, talents & identities

     

Preferred Education and Experience:
 

  • PhD in experimental nuclear physics
  • Advanced knowledge of experimental methods in nuclear physics, nuclear astrophysics, and nuclear reactions
  • Experience in the analysis of experimental data in low-energy nuclear physics
  • Experience with active target time projection chambers and General Electronics for TPCs

     

Responsibilities:
 

  • Research: Perform state-of-the-art experiments. Analyze data results. Assist the PI with graduate students.
  • Publication and Presentations: Publishes research papers, makes presentations, and performs other duties as assigned.
