Network Analyst – Tier II

Responsibilities:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Provide advanced, escalated, technical troubleshooting assistance relating to technology products and broadband service networks
  • Assists in setting up and maintaining network hardware and related equipment for the purpose of meeting project needs.
  • Support the Network Deployment teams in staging, configuring, and building network racks and preparation of prepared infrastructure
  • Contributes to the design and maintenance of local and remote network architecture and configuration for the purpose of ensuring efficient and cost-effective services.
  • Installs, maintains, troubleshoot and repair switches, routers, access points, cloud controllers, telecommunications equipment, network equipment and peripherals
  • Investigate field issues escalated to Tier III, determine root cause, publish issue resolution or work with developers to resolve
  • Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques
  • Apply experience and knowledge to construct solutions to technical problems & implement them
  • Ensure client and customer inquiries are responded to within established timeframes and customer care and technical support service levels are achieved
  • Record and track support problems in help desk software while keeping all parties informed of problem status and estimated resolution times.
  • Document logical and physical network design changes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 


QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Well rounded technical skills and experience with working in a service environment.
  • Knowledge of ISP services, wireless technologies, and switching/routing functions
  • Enjoy working with hardware and experience in building/configuring network devices
  • Ability is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; routinely gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a wide variety of factors when using equipment.
  • Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of processes.
  • PMP or project management education/certification is a plus
  • CCENT, CCNA, Network+ or similar network certification a plus
  • Strong technical/business acumen

 


EDUCATION

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in technical field is preferred.


EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of CCNA or CCENT or Network+
  • IP subnetting and networking knowledge are required.
  • Vendor experience with Cisco, hardware such as Ruckus, Meraki, orand Ubiquiti (switches and access points)
  • Basic experience with troubleshooting services such as Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, VPN, TFTP is required.
  • Experience with various NMS, device CLIs etc. required


SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent client management/resolution, problem solving; debugging/troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of OSI Layers
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems and documentation
  • Must be familiar with various cabling technologies including: Category 5e/6/6a, fiber, Coax, Patch Panels, and punch-down blocks
  • Familiar with 802.11 wireless standards
  • Experience with working with cloud controllers and SaaS platforms
  • Natural ability to multi-task while handling all job duties proficiently
  • High level of attention to details
  • Superior problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment


Working conditions

  • 50% remote and 50% in office when hardware preparation is required (Columbia SC office)
  • The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
  • Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 30% walking, and 10% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a hazard free environment.
  • Flexibility in schedule is required to include: nights, weekends and some holidays as we are a 24-hour operation but this will be rare – typical schedule is M-F or approved by Manager.
  • Some travel may be required, and travel expense are covered by the company.
  • On-call Rotation participation expected
