Job Description:

We are seeking a Mulesoft Developer to design a powerhouse system that will secure VA applications. As a back-end developer, you know that a good system needs the right combination of clean code, APIs, analytics, and infrastructure to build a user-focused solution. The Mulesoft Developer must be able to apply their skills and knowledge to lead a team that works together to devise a solution. In this role, they will be trusted to help customers solve problems using the latest architectural approaches like microservices. Using authorization mechanisms, the Mulesoft Developer will work with the development team to build API’s. Must have knowledge on use of open-source frameworks and tools like Java and Spring to design a custom tool with consistent performance and scalability. This role directly impacts the lives of millions of Americans by creating and maintaining APIs consumed by first and third-party applications and services. This is a remote position within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree (or HS diploma or GED and 12+ years of experience)

Required Years of Experience: 3+ years, or 8+ years of experience can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities:

  • Ability in implementing Mulesoft recommended best practices and solution, meeting the acceptance criteria
  • Experience in developing with Mulesoft
  • Experience working with AWS or Cloud Service Providers
  • Knowledge of API development
  • Strong experience in Application Integration Architecture Solution Design and Development using SOAP, REST, or RPC
  • Knowledge of modern source control systems
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Develop and guide team members in enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity
  • Perform data analysis and data profiling against source systems
  • Responsible for providing technical guidance/solutions
  • Build client trust and respect, establish client relationships, and develop rapport with client
  • Communicate and collaborate with other technical resources and stakeholders regarding status, technical issues, and creative solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Mulesoft experience in 4.X (4.0 or higher)
  • Expert-level experience developing, with an intimate working knowledge of Mulesoft
  • Knowledge of API development
  • Strong experience in Application Integration Architecture Solution Design and Development using SOAP, REST, or RPC
  • Strong knowledge of ESB, Mule Connectors, API Manager, and Raml design
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and effective interpersonal skills to work with user community
  • Experience working with Cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS or Azure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • VA and/or Healthcare IT experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working on CMMI Maturity Level 3 programs
  • Proficiency in Amazon AWS
  • Experience with containerization technologies
  • Experience supporting the Federal Government, VA, or Healthcare IT
