Job Description:

On behalf of the client, the Retail Print Production Manager will work closely with the Account Manager to manage the overall planning, status reporting, and delivery of moderately complex retail signage and kitting projects. They will ensure that project goals and objectives are met within the agreed-upon time, scope, budget, and resource requirements. With the guidance of the Account Manager, the Retail Print Production Manager will discuss projects with the client; research and suggest paper stocks, production techniques, and execute the entire production cycle, source and negotiate with an identified subset of vendors using enterprise RFQ and purchase order applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the client and consistently strive to exceed their expectations.
  • Meet with key marketing stakeholders to review creative briefs and program objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships between internal teams and qualified suppliers.
  • Interface with our print management software to prepare bid requests, assign jobs, track production, invoice our clients and report results.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the print program to ensure efficient operation and effective execution.
  • Analyze supplier bid packages, follow up with questions or project changes, confirm schedules, and prepare bid information in detailed or summarized proposals for client review.
  • Develop workback schedules.
  • Collaborate with the account team, channel partners, and vendors to successfully manage and execute retail print programs.
  • Confirm print specifications to ensure all job requirements, quality expectations, artwork availability and delivery dates are clearly identified and achievable Manage quality control of all print purchasing activities to ensure excellence.
  • Coordinate production and fulfillment with vendors to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries.
  • Work with vendors to ensure SLA’s are met and products are received by the customer on time.
  • Maintain a production status document of all assigned projects.
  • Review supplier invoices per established guidelines to ensure accuracy and timely payment to suppliers.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of industry best practices and ecofriendly stocks and print methods.
  • Monitor competitive activity and react to industry trends.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
  • An ability to travel and visit clients in the New York City and Toronto region, up to four times per year, is required.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to functional work or role with 5+ years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
  • Experience in the retail print industry or print management sector
  • Must be able to communicate to the client using a high-degree of customer service to articulate the appropriate message.
  • Able to apply strong functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows, or other technical tools in completing assignments. May require knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn specialized software to complete work assignments.
  • Must be able to communicate to vendors in the manner in which she/he/we would like to be treated.
  • Demonstrates the ability to solve moderately complex problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions learned through experience and proficiency in understanding the job.
