Job Description:

Seeking a creative EE with solid power, control and monitoring system design experience to supplement our long-term staff of professionals as we continue to grow and expand our markets. The Electrical Engineer is involved with all phases of the design, specification, production, certification, performance, use and servicing of Electron beam (EB) systems. We seek an individual with ability to independently complete custom power and control panel design and internal development projects. Candidate shall provide technical expertise for products and provide support for production/manufacturing, support to vendors and support to sales, service, and purchasing. This is a full-time on-site position. Occasional travel may be required. Our continued growth in both market penetration and new development requires expanding our already strong engineering department.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

· BS Electrical Engineering

· 5 plus years of control panel, schematic and wire run list design.

· 3 plus years Creo, ProDiagram, RSD,Creo/Windchill preferred.

· Ability to design to and interpret all applicable standards (CE, IEC, NEC, UL,TUV…) relevant to machine installation location.

· Experience in the design and selection of panels and components for control, monitoring and safe operation of turn-key industrial machinery.

· Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming experience a plus.

 

Essential Job Functions:

· Design layout and schematics and run lists for panel boards and junction boxes to be manufactured for machine control.

· Provide installation wire list for assembly of interconnection cables.

· Provide engineering support to panel vendors, ESI test and ESI field service engineers

· Parts Selection:

o Circuit Breakers, contactors, transformers, terminal blocks, terminal block modules, power supply modules, switches, pilot lights, cabinet assemblies and associated wire sizing. PLC modules experience helpful.

· Parts Layout:

o Terminal Strip Assemblies, Power Cabinets, Junction Boxes.

· Documentation: All panels must be accurately documented and traceable for field service and customer support.

· Schematic entry, BOM generation, Assembly Drawings. Pro Diagram and AutoCAD shall be used for panel and schematic design. Ability to support Test Group with documentation and incorporate feedback into drawings.

· Conceptualize, manage, execute and document EB equipment design from concept to completion.

· Create and modify parts and large-scale control panel assemblies using Creo.

· Create detailed drawings using ProEngineer for the manufacture of assemblies and components.

· Evaluate vendor components, develop specifications, analyze/select materials and verify design accuracy.

· Document testing and manufacturing procedures, Create test reports, review system manuals and compile machine test data.

· Tests and debugs PLC and HMI software.

· Provides technical leadership relating to PLC and HMI hardware and software implementation.

· Configures PLC network communications for SCADA systems

  • · Configure VPN modules for remote monitoring of EB systems at customer location.
