As a Controls Engineer at C & B Machinery, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and commissioning of sophisticated control systems for production grinding machines and related equipment. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with the engineering and project management teams to conceptualize and refine design approaches.
• Crafting comprehensive electrical and fluid power control circuit designs, encompassing panel layouts, operator station configurations, and bills of material.
• Developing PLC and CNC control programs and interfaces, including motion and part programs.
• Executing control system startup and commissioning on the shop floor.
• Providing essential support during machine tryouts and customer run-offs.
• Offering on-site assistance during customer plant startup and testing phases.
• Contributing to the creation of operation manuals.
• Conducting field service at customer plants when required.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Engineering or an advanced level of electrical and mechanical expertise.
• Proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, and coolant systems is advantageous.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and controls detailing.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and/or Fanuc control systems.
• Experience with Siemens CNC machining centers preferred.
• Knowledge of robotics and automation is beneficial.
• Competence in computer networking.

Expectations:

• Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with project managers and customer representatives throughout design phases, reviews, and inspections.
• Ability to liaise with electricians, panel builders, and shop personnel during construction and tryout processes.
• Capability to interpret and implement controls standards, safety protocols, and customer specifications.
• Aptitude for collaborating with and seeking advice from equipment suppliers.
• Flexibility for occasional out-of-town travel, averaging around 20%
